Rating= NO STARS- but I had to choose one in order to submit this.
I ordered a headstone from this business in June 2007. Was to be completed in 6 to 8 weeks. It is now Jan 24, 2008, and it was never completed. Numerous requests for a refund of my $1,936.50 have received nothing. I heard from salesman at this company that there are others who have not received product or refund. Mr. Jones will not return phone calls. I notified Better Business Bureau. They also got no response from Mr. Jones. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. Also goes by the name "Half Off Stones," and maybe others. This is disgraceful- taking advantage of people who have lost a loved one. This business should be investigated, and certainly not be allowed to advertise. KD from NY

The Truth from Marcus D. Jones

This report is From Karen Doris from the New York area. Henry Wayne Monk originally took her order which was a jet black stone custom shape and sized to fit cemetery regulations up in New York. Her order had I believe 2 etchings of Catholic Saints to be added to the stone. Once the order was accepted the process is started on getting a layout approval in order for it to be added to production. I don't recall how the layout went but do remember that there were several changes with it and did not speak much with Karen but did talk to her by email a few times. During the time nearing her orders completion is when all the negative stuff happened and therefore her order was delayed. However, her stone is still at the work area paid for. Her slander of taking advantage of people while they are in grief therefore is wrong. Karen Doris believed everything Henry Wayne Monk said about me and therefore lost faith and jumped on the bandwagon with others in her anger. You note in her report that she said she heard from the salesman that there were others who have not received their products. I wonder what else he said.

She better be glad she did not repay Henry Wayne Monk to do it or else that would be nothing to sell to begin to refund her money. Often times when I went to pick up material, normally every 4-6 weeks the material was not ready at the quarry yet, so if it was not ready then, I would have to get it on the next trip. Henry Wayne Monk escalated a lot of this because of his intentions but in no way did I not intend on doing her order, otherwise, I never would have ordered the stone, sent all the layouts, brought it to Nashville from Georgia, mail the etcher the images to be etched on it etc. Customers wanting refunds is and has always been a priority of mine and I will post info on refunds under the Attorney General link later. But once the customer pays me and I then pay the quarry and transport it all the way from 6 hours out of georgia 2 ways then the material that they ordered is not refundable. Many of these clients material including Karens is still just sitting there on the ground and again due to the temporary injunction that was filed by the State, I was not to contact them. If you want it it is still there and all you have to do is let the AG know that you still want what you paid for although it is not finished.

More will be added to this later......
